Dear Supporter,

Have you mailed your ballot yet? Only 20% of ballots have been returned, making your vote that much more important for electing bicycle-friendly candidates. Please consider Cascade's endorsements when voting for a livable King County.

King County Executive: Dow Constantine

Cascade endorsed Dow early this year. He was the first candidate to stress the importance of getting the abandoned BNSF rail line through the east side into public ownership. He supports creating a multi-use trail there, much like the Burke-Gilman. Future growth may bring commuter rail, but only if we act soon with regional leaders like Dow to "rail bank" and preserve this crucial corridor.

Dow is the current chair of the King County Council and a former state legislator.  He has taken initiative with wise proposals to save county services while cutting the budget to face the current shortfall.

Would you like to see improved transit through our region?  Dow's opponent opposes the plan that voters approved last year to extend light rail across I-90 and to the east side, and north of Seattle.  Now is not the time to move backward - please vote for Dow Constantine, our candidate for King County Executive.

Also on your ballot - Vote NO on Tim Eyman's Initiative 1033

Under I-1033, as the economy recovers, the state would have to cut services instead of restoring funding for road maintenance or transit. It's bad for bicycling and bad for our communities.

I-1033 is on the bottom left-hand corner of the first page, under the instructions, where it is very easy to overlook. Don't miss your chance to vote NO on I-1033.

Remind your friends! - Your ballot must be postmarked and in the mail or in a County Ballot Drop Box by 8 pm this Tuesday, November 3rd.

Thank you,

Chuck Ayers
