Dear Supporter,
Have you mailed your ballot yet? Less than 20% of ballots have been returned, making your vote that much more important for electing bicycle-friendly candidates. Please consider Cascade's endorsements when voting for a livable city.
Seattle Mayor: Mike McGinn
Seattle City Council, Position 8: Mike O'Brien
As a leaders in the Sierra Club, McGinn and O'Brien supported the Bridging the Gap levy to fund neighborhood sidewalks, bicycle lanes and improved transit access.
They facilitated the passage of Seattle's Complete Streets law, recognizing the need to build streets that work for everyone - those who walk, bicycle, ride transit and drive cars.
McGinn and O'Brien championed the successful Seattle Parks and Open Space Levy, to maintain and improve our neighborhood parks and complete our urban trails network.
Mayoral candidate Mike McGinn's and council candidate Mike O'Brien's dedication to Seattle can be seen in the form of safer streets, better parks, and a more prosperous and sustainable city.
Unfortunately, their opponents are supported by a political action committee that was just fined for hiding $100,000.
Fight back against the attack ads by voting for candidates who have proven their commitment to building a better Seattle for our families and our future. If you have a couple of hours or a few dollars to spare, please contribute to Mike O'Brien and Mike McGinn.
Also on your ballot:
County Executive: Dow Constantine
City Attorney: Tom Carr
Seattle City Council, Position 2: Richard Conlin
Seattle City Council, Position 4: Sally Bagshaw
Seattle City Council, Position 6: Jessie Israel
Initiative 1033: Oppose
Under I-1033, as the economy recovers, the state would have to cut services instead of restoring funding for road maintenance or transit. It's bad for bicycling and bad for our communities.
I-1033 is on the bottom left-hand corner of the first page, under the instructions, where it is very easy to overlook. Don't miss your chance to vote NO on I-1033.
Remind your friends! Your ballot must be postmarked and in the mail or in a County Ballot Drop Box by 8 pm this Tuesday, November 3rd.
Thank you,
Chuck Ayers
