Dear Supporter,

As you may know, Cascade Bicycle Club has fought hard alongside the citizens of Lake Forest Park to reconstruct a safe, beautiful Burke-Gilman Trail.  It will take real leadership to move forward on this important project and all of the others that will keep creating a livable community.

We're supporting Sandy Koppenol, John Wright and Bob Lee for City Council.

Sandy has been a dedicated steward on the city council.  Her opponent, Alan Kiest, has been an opponent of reconstructing the Burke-Gilman Trail and non-motorized transportation in general.

In fact, Alan Kiest voted to spend $288,000 in taxpayer funds to defend Ordinance 951, which would have made it impossible construct a safer trail.  The ordinance, which violated state law, was thrown out. After wasting all that money, we think it's time to replace Alan with
Sandy Koppenol, who has proven her leadership on these issues.

John Wright and Bob Lee have served Lake Forest Park on the Transportation Commission (John), on the Planning Commission (Bob) and the Legacy Task Force.  Both are friends of walking and biking trails throughout Lake Forest Park, including the Burke-Gilman Trail, and are working to make Lake Forest Park a better community.

In the race for King County Executive,
Dow Constantine has proven himself to be a supporter of policies that will enable us to grow responsibly in the future while keeping our cherished parks, trails and open space.  We encourage you to take our endorsements into account and share them with your friends.

If you have a couple of hours or a few dollars to spare, please consider a contribution to their campaigns.

Regardless of your decision,
remember to vote by Tuesday, November 3rd!

Thank you,

David Hiller
