Would you like cycling to be safer in your city and throughout Washington? Cascade is having great success working with lawmakers to pass Pro-Bike legislation. Just last Friday, the Three-Foot Passing bill was successfully voted out of the House and is on its way to the State Senate.
But action is needed now to get the two other "Safety for All" bills out of the House before a critical March 12 deadline!
Follow this link and encourage your representatives to "support Safety For All."
The Safe Routes to Schools bill, HB 1793, brings the federal program that builds facilities for safer walking and bicycling to neighborhood schools into our state's code. It also forms criteria to make sure we're spending the money effectively.
HB 1403 would require that new and upgraded traffic signals reliably detect bicycles and motorcycles.
Call or email your State Representatives today! Let them know that you are a bicyclist and constituent and that you'd like them to support HB 1793 and HB1403.
These bills will die if they aren't passed by March 12, so don't put it off. Call or write now if you want to see better conditions for bicycling.
