Protect Minnesota: Preventing Gun Injuries and Deaths

Dear Friend,

We knew this would happen. Elected officials are trying to pass the buck. Governor Dayton is hedging. And the NRA lobbyists again want more guns in more places. We can't stand for more of this.

Click here to urge Gov. Dayton and all of our elected officials: Stand up for our right to be free from gun violence. We need action in Minnesota now, and not the same old ideas of the NRA lobbyists. Those ideas got us where we are now.

Once you've signed the petition, ask people you know to sign. We need more voices to demand the change we need.

If more guns made us safer, Nancy Lanza, the first victim of her son's rampage in Newtown, would be alive today. Lanza, an accomplished shooter, died in her own home, surrounded by guns.

Click here to urge Gov. Dayton and all of our elected officials: Stand up for our right to be free from gun violence.
Then ask a friend to join us.

The NRA lobbyists are proposing more guns in more places - this time, in the schools. There are no real-life examples to support the fantasy of "saving the day with a gun" fantasy that they are selling.

The vast majority of the public knows what to do. Keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have them. Provide services, not guns, to the mentally ill. And get combat weapons off the streets.

Urge our governor to stand up for freedom from gun violence today. Then ask a friend to join us.

We need to push hard to get our politicians to do the right thing. We will win only with support from you and those you know. Together, we can win our freedom from gun violence.

Thank you for all you do,

Heather Martens
